Welcome to the Conclave of Thelador! We are a Dagorhir unit based out of Ashland, VA and the surrounding area. If you would like to learn more about our unit, please feel free to browse through the website. It is updated regularly, and our practice schedule is under the "Schedule" section. If you would like to speak with one of our unit leaders, please see the Members section. Don't hesitate to send us an email or give us a call!

A little bit about Dagorhir: First and foremost, Dagorhir is best sport ever made! Your individuality, creativity, and fighting spirit will carry you farther in Dagorhir than possibly any other sport today, including other combat sports such as the various martial arts and fencing. On top of being the most fun that you will have ever had, it is also arguably the most safe sport out there. Every "weapon" is heavily, heavily padded around a PVC pipe core, to the point that you will feel like you've just been hit with a pillow (just don't forget, that also means you probably just lost an arm or a leg!). However, despite the extreme safety precautions that we strictly adhere to, the "weapons" we use look and feel quite realistic to the user, and it is quite satisfying to land a blow with your sword. If you would like to see pictures of our armory, please visit the "Gallery" page. Also, please check out the Dagorhir Organizations national website and the Aratari realms website. Please note: if you are considering joining our unit, there is an age limitation. We typically allow age 15 and up with parents written permission, but in order to go to a national battle, a fighter must be 18 years old or higher.

A little bit about our unit: The Conclave of Thelador started out in 2009 with a few swords and a group of friends that wanted to practice sword fighting. We have grown over the years and gradually added new members and all sorts of different weapons to produce the diverse group of fighters that we have today. During the course of a standard practice session, we will practice many different battle types that will play to the strengths and weaknesses of our members. Examples of our battle formats include, but are most definetely not limited to:

  • Line battles (group vs. group)
  • Single combat (man vs. man)
  • Ambush scenarios (in the woods and in the field)
  • Capture the flag
  • Armored knights vs. peasants
  • Free-for-all (and the various modes thereof, including zombie battles!)
  • King of the hill

  • If you think you have what it takes to be a warrior of Thelador, come out to one of our practices and show us what you're made of! For new members, the unit has weapons that are fair game for any member to use, and our older members will show you how to make a personal weapon of your own without hesitation. We look forward to seeing you on the battlefield!
